Job Description
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sales Agronomist to join our team and promote our agricultural solutions to farmers and growers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of agronomy, crop production, and agricultural best practices, combined with excellent sales and communication skills. This role involves building relationships with growers, providing technical expertise, and recommending solutions to optimize crop yields and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within a defined territory.
Build and maintain strong relationships with growers, retailers, and other key stakeholders in the agricultural industry.
Conduct farm visits to assess crop conditions, identify needs, and provide tailored recommendations.
Promote and sell the company's agricultural products and services, including seeds, fertilizers, crop protection products, and precision agriculture technologies.
Develop and deliver effective sales presentations and proposals.
Negotiate sales contracts and close deals.
Achieve and exceed sales targets and quotas.
Agronomic Expertise & Support:
Provide expert agronomic advice and recommendations to growers on crop production practices, including:
Variety selection
Soil fertility management
Pest and disease control
Irrigation management
Precision agriculture technologies
Conduct field trials and demonstrations to showcase the benefits of the company's products and services.
Stay up-to-date on the latest agricultural research, technologies, and best practices.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain long-term relationships with growers, providing ongoing support and guidance.
Address grower inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
Gather feedback from growers to identify areas for improvement and new product development opportunities.
Market Analysis & Competitive Intelligence:
Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and new product introductions.
Analyze sales data and market information to identify opportunities and challenges.
Provide insights and recommendations to the sales and marketing team.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
1+ years of experience in agricultural sales or agronomic consulting.
Strong understanding of agronomy, crop production practices, and agricultural technologies.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong sales and negotiation skills.
Desirable:
Experience with precision agriculture technologies.
Existing network of grower contacts.
