Purpose of the Role
The Business Development Manager will drive sustainable growth by identifying and capitalizing on new market opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and expanding the company’s client base. This role requires a visionary leader adept at building relationships, innovating growth strategies, and positioning the company as a market leader in East Africa’s real estate sector.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth Leadership
Develop and execute business development strategies to penetrate new markets, diversify revenue streams, and achieve long-term growth targets.
Identify and prioritize high-potential opportunities (e.g., international/diaspora, partnerships with developers, or untapped buyer segments).
Market Expansion & Partnerships
Lead market research to uncover trends, competitor insights, and emerging opportunities in real estate.
Negotiate and secure strategic partnerships with developers, institutional investors, and international clients.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Building
Design innovative approaches to attract and retain high-value clients, leveraging digital tools and offline networks.
Cultivate long-term relationships with key stakeholders to ensure repeat business and referrals.
System Development & Innovation
Implement scalable processes and tools to track business development pipelines and optimize conversion.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategies with marketing, sales, and operational goals.
Performance Analysis
Monitor KPIs (e.g., market share growth, partnership ROI) and report insights to senior leadership.
Key Requirements
Background & Experience
5+ years in business development, preferably in real estate, property development, or related sectors.
Proven success in identifying and closing strategic partnerships or entering new markets.
Experience in startups or high-growth environments is a plus.
Skills
Strong negotiation, networking, and stakeholder management abilities.
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Expertise in market analysis, strategic planning, and financial modeling.
Proficiency in CRM tools and data-driven decision-making.
Entrepreneurial mindset with agility to pivot strategies in a dynamic environment.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
