Junior Accountant Vacancy -Nairobi

Emerge Egress Consulting is a HR Management & Training Consulting Firm established in 2017 based in Nairobi. In essence it focuses in Recruitment, Business & Marketing Strategy and Training Programs for various sectors. We partner with clients in various industries and sectors in order to meet their various needs.

Role Objective:
Our client is seeking an individual who will be responsible in providing support in the Finance department and this position reports to the Head of Finance.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handling receivables in a very timely and professional manner
• Maintaining accurate and updated financial records ie ledgers, cashbooks and other financial documents.
• Reconciling bank statements and other accounts.
• Processing and verifying invoices and payments.
• Participating in audits.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Track and analyze regular and monthly expenses against the budget.
• Support tax compliance activities, including preparing tax returns, other statutory payments.
• General accounting and ledger maintenance: Review financial transactions and ensure accuracy and completeness of ledger entries.
• Ensure timely preparation of monthly balance sheet and other financial reports.
• Resolve discrepancies arising from reconciliations accurately and promptly.
• Identify cost saving opportunities and recommend action to improve financial efficiency.
• Monitor cost trends and variances and provide detailed reports to management.
• Perform reconciliations for bank, mpesa and cash etc.
• Conduct financial analysis to evaluate project profitability, cash flow projections, and return on investment.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, relevant tax regulations.
• Performing accounting duties such as preparing invoices, cash flow preparation,
• Reporting any financial risks and budgetary discrepancies to management for review.
• Maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Undertake banking duties as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications and Qualifications:

• CPA Intermediate Level
• Diploma in Finance/Audit
• At least 2 years' work experience in a busy work environment.
• Proficiency in an accounting software and ERP Systems and Microsoft office suite
• Excellent knowledge in accounting principles, financial reporting tools and quick books
• Ability to ensure accurate and timely tax compliance
• Experience in using accounting software and ERP
• Experience in both audit and finance is most preferred
