Job Description

Company Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Accountant with internal audit experience to join our dynamic finance team.
Job Purpose: The Accountant will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance with financial policies, regulations, and auditing standards. The successful candidate will also serve as the Internal Auditor, assessing the effectiveness of internal controls and processes to safeguard the company’s financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
· Internal Audit: Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Identify potential risks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
· Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly and annual reports, in line with accounting standards.
· General Accounting: Maintain general ledger accounts, including accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and payroll.
· Compliance: Ensure compliance with local tax laws, financial regulations, and company policies.
· Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in budgeting, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support management decision-making.
· Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
· Audit Coordination: Coordinate with external auditors during year-end audits and prepare all necessary documentation.
· Financial Reconciliation: Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accurate records and reports. Reconciliation of forex transactions.
· Process Improvement: Provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and financial management processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Educational Requirements:
o Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
o CPA(K) – Certified Public Accountant of Kenya.
· Experience:
o A minimum of 7 years cumulative experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in internal audit and exposure to forex transactions.
o Proven experience in conducting internal audits, financial reporting, and accounting operations within a fast-paced environment.
o Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax regulations, and auditing practices.
· Skills:
o Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Strong understanding of accounting software and financial systems.
o High attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
o Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
