Job Description

Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Nairobi
Department: Finance
Reports To: Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

Position Overview

As a Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of our company. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis, as well as compliance with financial regulations. Your role is crucial in maintaining the financial health of the organization and supporting strategic decision-making.

Role and Responsibilities

Work requirements and tasks will be guided by the laid down policies and procedures which is reviewed periodically but will fall broadly in the following Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs):

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to management and stakeholders.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
• Assist in the preparation of long-term financial plans and strategic planning.

Cash Flow Management:

• Monitor and manage the company's cash flow to ensure liquidity.
• Prepare cash flow projections and identify potential cash flow issues.
• Optimize cash management practices to improve financial stability.

Compliance and Audit:

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

• Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
• Manage credit control and debt collection activities.

Financial Systems and Processes:

• Maintain and improve financial systems and processes.
• Implement best practices in financial management and reporting.
Provide training and support to finance team members

Experience Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Must have a Professional Certification; CPA-K.
• Proven experience as a Finance Officer or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in financial management software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Excel).
