Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Distribution Centre Manager to oversee the daily operations of our distribution facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory flow, optimizing logistics processes, ensuring high standards of safety and efficiency, and leading a motivated warehouse team. This role is pivotal in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers and retail locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all distribution center operations including receiving, warehousing, inventory management, and shipping.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational policies and procedures.
Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, streamline operations, and reduce costs.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Lead, coach, and manage warehouse and logistics staff; oversee shift schedules and performance evaluations.
Coordinate with procurement, transportation, and customer service teams to meet delivery timelines.
Analyze data to assess performance, forecast demand, and identify areas of improvement.
Implement and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS) and ensure staff are trained accordingly.
Report regularly to senior management on operational metrics and progress.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
10+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution center management.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Strong understanding of inventory management systems and logistics software.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution environment.
Preferred:
Certification in Supply Chain (e.g., APICS, CSCMP).
Experience with ERP or WMS platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan).
