Job Description
Position: Import & Export Specialist
Job Description:
Provide the most suitable and high-quality customs clearance providers.
Manage communications with customs clearance providers and shipment insurance companies.
Review and validate paperwork from customs clearance providers.
Issue purchasing requests for customs clearance providers.
Prepare required documents and review clearance invoices.
Pass clearance invoices to the finance department and settle payment transactions.
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods, addressing any arising issues.
Follow up with suppliers regarding production schedules and readiness of consignments.
Coordinate and manage all import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with customs and regulatory requirements.
Work with freight forwarders and transportation companies to optimize shipping routes, modes, and rates.
Analyze shipping rates and negotiate contracts with freight carriers to optimize costs.
Monitor shipment status, address potential delays, and provide updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
Prepare and maintain documentation related to import activities, including invoices, bills of lading, and customs forms.
Maintain accurate import documentation for compliance and reference purposes.
Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations in shipping processes.
Identify areas for process improvement within import/export operations and implement best practices.
Update all shipment statuses on a daily basis and notify the warehouse of shipment arrivals.
Qualifications:
Proven experience of 10+ years in the import/export field.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of customs regulations and documentation requirements.
Proven experience in import/export operations and customs compliance.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Strong analytical skills for cost optimization and process improvement.
Proficient in written and spoken English.
