Job Description

The Deputy Director of Innovation supports the organization's innovation strategy by identifying opportunities for growth, fostering creative problem-solving, and managing the execution of innovative projects and initiatives. The role involves leading cross-functional teams, driving organizational transformation, and ensuring new ideas align with business goals and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

Innovation Strategy Development

Assist in designing and implementing the organization’s innovation roadmap.
Identify emerging trends, technologies, and best practices to drive competitive advantage.
Support strategic planning to integrate innovation across all departments.

Project and Program Management

Oversee the planning, development, and execution of innovative projects.
Manage timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure project success.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of innovation initiatives.

Team Leadership and Collaboration

Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of innovation professionals.
Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to promote cross-functional innovation.

Research and Development

Conduct market research to identify unmet needs and potential opportunities.
Partner with R&D teams to design prototypes, test ideas, and refine solutions.
Champion the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.

Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain relationships with external partners, startups, and innovation hubs.
Communicate innovation strategies and progress to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and forums.

Performance Metrics and Reporting

Establish KPIs to measure the success of innovation initiatives.
Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership.

Qualifications and Skills

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Innovation Management, Engineering, or a related field (required).
Master’s degree in Innovation, Technology Management, or an MBA (preferred).

Experience
At least 10-12 years of experience in innovation, product development, or strategic leadership roles.
Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing innovation initiatives.
