PVC Extrusion

Job Summary
An extrusion machine operator works in a factory, overseeing the production of UPVC Roofing Sheets and by products of UPVC materials for manufacturing or construction.
They must be mechanically inclined to understand issues with machines and fix them.
In addition to physical strength and stamina, extrusion operators should have computer skills, dexterity, and critical thinking skills.
Job Responsibilities
• Adjust, calibrate and test equipment at the beginning of every shift to ensure proper pressure, speed, temperature and general operation.
• Responsible for setting the machine up, selecting dies, performing maintenance, and troubleshooting problems.
• Must be familiar with all standard safety precautions and procedures to ensure no injuries occur.
• Examine visually, weigh and measure components created from equipment at the end of the day to ensure machines are producing according to company and industry regulations and standards, making adjustments as needed.
• Work with team members, shift supervisors and all necessary personnel to take care of complications as they arise.
• Communicate with fellow team members to learn of any equipment problems or malfunctions, and take care of them as they come up.
• Use regulated cleaning solutions, grease guns, oil cans, air hoses and cleaning cloths to properly maintain and clean equipment on a bimonthly basis.
• Make repairs to equipment when necessary, and replace all defective, broken or worn out components.
• Choose and install cutters, molds and all other necessary equipment parts so machines are always operating at peak efficiency.
• Manage the levels of chemicals to make sure process run correctly for making UPVC Sheets, Ceilings or any other products.
• Operate and tend machines to prepare and make PVC or consumer products for storage or shipment.
• Manage the master calendar and schedule resources, forecast and delivery.
• Extrude products according to ISO standards.
• Train various employees to operate and troubleshoot various manual and automate machines, furthering company growth.
• Perform root cause and corrective action analysis (CAPA) for manufacturing satisfying ISO, FDA and internal quality system requirements.
Job Skills & Qualifications
Required:
• At least two years of experience in a production workspace
• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds
• Able to read measurements
Preferred:
• Well-organized and history of showing initiative
• Knowledge of current OSHA safety rules and regulations
