Mechatronics Engineer Assistant Vacancy- Construction(Nairobi)

About the Client:

Our client is a leading innovative construction solutions provider in East Africa who has a proven track record of performance driven by solid knowledge and experience in the construction industry and is seeking to recruit Assistant Mechatronics Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing advanced automation systems that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components. The role will involve applying engineering principles to enhance the functionality, safety, and reliability of various automated systems used in manufacturing, logistics, and other industrial applications.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

Design mechanical and electrical systems integrated with computer control for automated systems.
Develop models and prototypes for new systems and machines.
Utilize CAD and CAM software to design components and systems.
Testing and Troubleshooting:

Perform testing and validation of prototypes and systems.
Identify faults in mechanical, electronic, and software components and troubleshoot accordingly.
Implement continuous improvements based on test results.
Automation and Control:

Develop control systems for automation, ensuring optimal performance of robots, actuators, and sensors.
Design and program PLCs, microcontrollers, and embedded systems to meet automation requirements.
System Integration:

Integrate mechanical, electrical, and computer systems to create efficient and reliable mechatronic systems.
Ensure seamless communication between different subsystems using network protocols and control algorithms.
Collaboration and Documentation:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to deliver innovative solutions.
Prepare detailed documentation, including schematics, software, and hardware specifications, for project reference.

Maintenance and Support:

Provide technical support to production teams and ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
Train technicians and operators on system operation and troubleshooting procedures.

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
1-2 years of experience in mechatronics or related fields, preferably in an industrial setting.
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), PLC programming, and robotics systems.
Strong knowledge of automation systems, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Competencies and Skills:

Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT and machine learning.
Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++) for embedded systems.
Experience with robotic systems and industrial automation equipment.
