About Shepherds Junior School

education based on the British International Curriculum. We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced
individual to fill the crucial role of British International Curriculum Coordinator and Deputy Headteacher.
Job Purpose
The British International Curriculum Coordinator & Deputy Headteacher will play a pivotal role in ensuring the
successful implementation and development of the British International Curriculum (BIC) within the school.
Simultaneously, this individual will support the Headteacher in the overall leadership and management of the
school.
Key Responsibilities
British International Curriculum Coordinator
● Curriculum Development and Implementation:
○ Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the BIC to ensure alignment
with the school’s mission and vision.
○ Develop and maintain a comprehensive curriculum map that outlines learning objectives,
assessment criteria, and teaching strategies.
○ Ensure the curriculum is engaging, challenging, and relevant to the needs of the students.
● Curriculum Resources:
○ Select and procure high-quality teaching and learning resources to support the curriculum.
○ Ensure adequate resources are available for all teachers and students.
● Staff Development:
○ Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their
understanding and implementation of the BIC.
○ Support teachers in developing effective teaching and assessment strategies.
● Assessment and Reporting:
○ Oversee the development and implementation of assessment procedures that align with the BIC.
○ Analyze student assessment data to inform instructional decisions and identify areas for
improvement.
○ Prepare and disseminate comprehensive student reports.
● Quality Assurance:
○ Monitor the quality of teaching and learning to ensure adherence to the BIC standards.
○ Conduct regular curriculum audits and make recommendations for improvement.
As a Deputy Headteacher
● School Leadership:
○ Support the Headteacher in the overall leadership and management of the school.
○ Deputize for the Headteacher in their absence.
○ Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s strategic plan.
● Staff Management:
○ Oversee the recruitment, induction, performance management, and professional development of
staff.
○ Foster a positive and collaborative school culture.
○ Manage staff performance issues in line with school policies.
● Operational Management:
○ Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school, including timetabling, student welfare, and
facilities management.
○ Manage the school budget and ensure efficient resource allocation.
● Parent and Community Relations:
○ Build strong relationships with parents and the wider community.
○ Communicate effectively with parents about the school’s curriculum, policies, and achievements.
● Quality Assurance:
○ Contribute to the school’s quality assurance processes, including inspections and accreditations

Person Specification
● Proven experience as a British International Curriculum Coordinator or a similar role.
● Strong leadership and management skills.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, and parents.
● In-depth knowledge of the British National Curriculum and assessment frameworks.
● Strong curriculum development and implementation skills.
● Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
● Excellent organizational and time management skills.
● A commitment to professional development.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Education, Masters will be an added advantage.
● Must be registered by the Teachers Service Commission.
