Teacher Librarian

The Teacher-Librarian will:
 Administer libraries and perform related library services; which may include but not limited to selecting, acquiring, cataloguing, classifying, circulating, and maintaining library materials; and furnishing reference, bibliographical, and readers' advisory services;
 Perform strategic research, and synthesize, analyze, edit, and filter information; May set up or work with databases and information systems to catalogue and access information;
 Teach/ guide teachers children/pupils/ students how to use the library database and other research tools like an encyclopedia, dictionary or thesaurus;
 Monitor and manage children/pupils/ students when using the library facilities
Qualifications & Requirements:
 Degree/ Diploma in Library and Information Science
 Degree /Diploma in Education is an added advantage
 IT literate, confident and efficient in using IT systems
 2 years hands on experience working in a school or other educational institutions
 Good organizational skills
 Ability to deal confidently with enquiries from library users
 Enthusiastic about and enjoy working constructively with students and teaching staff
 Ability to develop a culture of mutual respect with the pupils
 Ability to work independently.
 Must be professional, organized, and efficient.
 Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
 Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally
