**Sports Director Intern**

**Job Summary:**

SmartPay Kenya Sports Club is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Sports Director Intern to support the implementation of our sports club policies and initiatives. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a growing sports organization focused on promoting physical fitness, financial inclusion, community engagement, *and sports infrastructure development*. The ideal candidate will be passionate about sports, possess strong organizational and communication skills, and be eager to contribute to the success of SmartPay Kenya's Sports Club.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Assist in the planning and execution of sports club activities, events, and programs, aligning with the club's constitution and rules.
* Support the implementation of the club's Physical Fitness & Lifestyle Management Policy, promoting the health, well-being, and performance of club members.
* Assist in managing relationships with athletes, coaches, and other stakeholders.
* Contribute to the development of marketing and promotional materials for sports club initiatives.
* Support the implementation of the club's Financial Inclusion Policy, promoting financial literacy and access to financial services for club members and the community.
* Assist in coordinating logistics for sports events, including venue selection, equipment procurement, and volunteer management.
* Conduct research on sports trends, competitor activities, and potential partnerships.
* Assist in the development of partnerships with sponsors and community organizations.
* Ensure compliance with the club's Code of Conduct, Non-Discrimination & Harassment policies, and Dispute Resolution procedures.
* Support the SmartPay Football League initiatives, promoting youth empowerment and community development.
* *Assist in identifying and evaluating opportunities for sports club infrastructure development, including facility upgrades, equipment acquisition, and field improvements.*
* *Support the planning and coordination of infrastructure development projects, working with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.*

**Qualifications & Requirements:**

* Currently pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Strong passion for sports and a broad understanding of the sports industry in Kenya.
* Familiarity with sports club policies, rules, and regulations.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Experience with social media platforms and marketing tools is a plus.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Eagerness to learn and contribute to a fast-paced sports environment.
* Understanding of financial inclusion principles and their application in sports is a plus.
* *Knowledge of sports infrastructure development principles and practices is a plus.*
* **Note:** This is an unpaid internship for the first three months. Performance will be evaluated for potential compensation afterward.
