Job Advertisement: Research Nurse – ART Adherence Study
Institutional Centre for Reproductive Health
Location: Uasin Gishu, Kericho, Nandi, Nairobi, Kitui, Wajir, Kenya

Position Overview:
The Institutional Centre for Reproductive Health (ICFRH) is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to join a groundbreaking research study focused on Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) adherence. We are seeking dedicated, compassionate, and highly motivated individuals to fill the role of Research Nurse at our study sites in Uasin Gishu, Kericho, Nandi, Nairobi, Kitui, and Wajir counties.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of this study, which is aimed at understanding and improving ART adherence among individuals living with HIV. As a research nurse, you will be directly involved in patient care, data collection, monitoring, and supporting participants throughout the study duration.

Key Responsibilities:
• Participant Recruitment: Screen and recruit eligible participants in the designated counties.
• Data Collection: Conduct detailed interviews and assessments on ART adherence, collecting accurate and reliable data for the study.
• Medical Support: Provide nursing care to participants, including monitoring their health status, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring that they are adhering to study protocols.
• Patient Education: Educate study participants on ART adherence, HIV management, and the importance of maintaining consistent treatment regimens.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Track and report adverse events, side effects, or any issues related to the study. Ensure that participants’ privacy and confidentiality are maintained throughout the research process.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other study team members, including the principal investigator and data managers, to ensure the smooth operation of the study.
• Follow-Up: Ensure that participants adhere to the study schedule and attend follow-up visits.

Required Qualifications:
• A valid Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) license, NIH license.
• A minimum of Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• At least 2 years of experience in clinical practice, with preference given to those with experience in HIV care and ART adherence.
• Familiarity with research procedures and data collection methods is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Compassionate, empathetic, and committed to improving the health and well-being of study participants.

Desirable Skills:
• Previous experience in a research setting, particularly in studies related to HIV/AIDS.
• Knowledge of local languages spoken in the study areas (Uasin Gishu, Kericho, Nandi, Nairobi, Kitui, Wajir) will be an added advantage.
• Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry software.
• Ability to travel frequently to the designated study sites.
